Based in N.E.Lincolnshire, Bob has been involved with art in one form or another for most of his life. In his early years he studied under his father who was an art teacher ( and a fine artist in his own right ).

For one reason or another ( moved house / dismantled studio ) Bob did not paint for ten years. He was not totally idle during this period as he built up a collection of characters and subjects which he knew that one day would be useful in his passion for fantasy work. in 2006 Bob started to paint again and is now incorporating some of those ideas into his works.

His fantasy paintings are really a journey of the mind – you are first invited to view the painting – then move in a little closer and start to notice things – a few puns perhaps, a joke, a mystery or maybe even a message. He hopes to invoke an interaction between the viewer and the painting. He will have reasons for painting what he paints and sometimes he will tell you, but let your imagination wander and apply your own interpretation.

He does not confine himself totally to fantasy work, he takes breaks and enters other dimensions, dancers, animals and birds just to name a few. In 2007 whilst surfing American art websites he came across painted feathers .  The challenge was too great and he had to have a go. The results can be found on these pages. Some of his sporting works are painted with pin feathers from woodcock and starling.
